1. Develop and implement strategies to evaluate risk quality and enhance skillset in qualifying, selecting and assessing risk
2. Evaluate underwriting, renewals and new business, actuarial trends, ceded reinsurance, market opportunity, and product application to determine potential growth plans
3. Participate in marketplace initiatives through interface with key members, brokers and reinsurers
4. Analyze software and process enhancements that can be added for MPR to improve efficiency and viability
5. Ability to analyze data and develop metrics for good management of risk
6. Oversees development, implementation, and maintenance of rate structures, pricing tools and risk management tools in supporting our new and existing coverages and services
7. Maintain a high level of member service through developed processes and technology
8. Participate in collaboration and teamwork
9. Applies underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules and relevant laws and regulations
10. Defines strategy and oversees execution of continuously improving membership risks in alignment with program objectives
11. Quality Audit and Account Review to ensure files meet regulatory requirements and documentation standards
12. Assist members, prospects, and brokers with their MPR coverage-related questions
13. Establishes and maintains high level of relationship management with key brokers
14. Develops and maintains effective business relationships with MPR staff and partners
15. Works a flexible schedule when necessary to accommodate the needs of Members and MPR
16. Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances related to rating and underwriting
17. Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary
18. Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
19. Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or needed
20. Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic

Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Five years of underwriting experience
Certifications / Licenses:
1. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or equivalent credential preferred
